Keep up the good work this weekend, SF!

October 17, 2020

San Francisco is getting stronger in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Our large, dense, and diverse urban environment is an outstanding example of how to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while laying the foundation for enduring economic recovery. Our secret sauce is science, data, facts, and partnerships.

As we enjoy another warm San Francisco weekend it is critical that we maintain our success so we can continue to safely reopen our city. When in public spaces always wear face coverings, maintain social distance and limit the size of gatherings with people outside of a household. These measures are the key to our path to recovery. We must do everything we can to do our part. Scenes of people maskless, in large groups and with lax social distancing are not the San Francisco we need to be right now.

It is our collective responsibility to do the simple things that science and data have proven to be effective in reducing the spread of the virus. Although it may feel daunting or overwhelming at times, our collective efforts have made us stronger and safer than other similar communities, so keep up the good work, San Francisco! https://sf.gov/information/guidance-safer-social-interactions-during-pandemic
