Fire

Fire safety is best explained by our friends at the San Francisco Fire Department

If there is a fire:

  •  If it's small put it out with a fire extinguisher, if life-threatening evacuate the building and call 911 from a safe location.
  • If you see smoke under the door or the handle is hot,  find another way out by staying low to the ground to avoid smoke.
  • If your clothes catch on fire stop, drop, and roll to put the flames out.
  • Do not go back inside the building until instructed to do so. Fires can structurally damage buildings making them unsafe to occupy. Fore more information about reentering damaged buildings check out the SF Department of Building Inspection.
